Behind the Blog...
Hi friends! I'm Gracee, the writer behind There She Goes.
You may recognize my witty writing style from my previous articles for Her Campus Laurier. I’ve always been a person who thought I lacked the traditional perception of “creativity” yet always found power in self-expression and imagination. When I started writing for Her Campus, I was fully prepared for the deprecating and borderline embarrassing comments from my peers, but to my surprise received the exact opposite. Something about making people who seemingly care about nothing, care about something. And with ‘that something’ being my work, it nonetheless fueled my fire. Needless to say, once I found out that there was a way to express my feelings and sarcastic humor through a screen, I was hooked. “There She Goes” embraces brutal honesty, unpopular opinions (that everyone was secretly thinking), and allowing yourself to make mistakes, try new things and step outside of what is expected of you.

The name “There She Goes” to me serves as a double meaning of how I’ve always thought people viewed me and how we as a society view others. “There She Goes!” similar to the common phrase “Look at her go!”, can be said by those who view someone in a positive light. There she goes; proving others wrong, pushing boundaries and succeeding in ways that motivate others to be their best selves. “There she goes.. Again”, commonly used as the condescending yet all too familiar “not her again”, can be used in my eyes by “motivators” or in a more realistic sense, skeptics. There she goes again, with an eye roll following after being said, most likely after seeing the intimidatingly outgoing or at times obnoxious girl that just can’t seem to slow down. This blog, like almost everything in life, can be seen in many different lights, perceived by many who support it and those who frankly don’t, which makes things even more exciting in my eyes. Nothing is as serious as it seems to be and that's how I’d like to treat this creative outlet. Life is too short to take skepticism with fear instead of using it as fuel. With that, I hope you enjoy following me on this new journey of life which I assure you will be filled with many memories; the good, the bad, and the ones that make the best stories.

Happy reading!
